The Dale and Betty Bumpers Vaccine Research Center (VRC), part of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), was established to facilitate HIV/AIDS vaccine development. The mission of the VRC is to conduct research that facilitates the discovery and development of effective vaccines to improve global human health. The primary research focus is the development of vaccines and biologics to prevent HIV infection and other human diseases, such as influenza, COVID-19, and Ebola virus disease.
